HRT (may be cyclical and progestogen should be added for 10-14 days of the cycle or may be continuously combined). Prevention of post-menopausal osteoporosis and vascular disease. Atrophic vaginitis; atrophic urethritis, estrogen replacement.

Less thromboembolic disease than semisyntheticor synthetic oestrogen, spotting, breast tenderness, chloasma, weight changes. C.f. prescribing in liver disease p. 16.
