CHOLESTEROL ABSORPTION INHIBITORS

An adjunct to dietary measures and statin treatment.Reduction of total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol, and apolipoprotein B in the management of hyperlipidaemias.
|
|
|
Headache, abdominal pain, and diarrhoea. Contraindicated in patients with active liver disease or unexplained, persistent increases in serum aminotransferase (transaminase) concentrations.
|
|
|
10mg once daily . Must be used in combination with a statin.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Use during pregnancy only if potential benefit to the mother outweighs the possible risk to the fetus.
