Class IV antiarrhythmic.

|
Headache, ankle oedema, hypotension, dizziness, bradycardia, AV block. Avoid grapefruit juice. C.f. Prescribing in liver and renal disease p. 13; 28.

Angina: 60-120mg three times daily to a maximum of 360mg daily .
Slow release preparation:120-480mg daily . |

|
Diltiazem should be used during pregnancy only when the possible benefits outweigh the potential risks to the fetus.
|
|
|
Diltiazem is distributed in breastmilk and is not recommended for lactating women.
|
