Thromboprophylaxis in abdominal surgery: 2500-5000 iu s.c. 1-2
hours before surgery then once daily for 5-10 day s after surgery . Unstable Angina: 120 iu/kg to a maximum of 10,000 iu s.c. every 12 hours given with 75-165mg Asp irin daily for 5-8 |

Not known to be harmful, low molecular weight heparins do not cross the placenta. However, multidose vials contain benzyl alcohol which should be avoided due to association with gasping syndrome in premature infants.

|
Dalteparin is distributed in breastmilk and should be used with caution in lactating women.
