For infections caused by H. influenzae and Strep. moniae and any other susceptible organisms. However, please note that the oral forms have been replaced by amoxicillin.

Adult: 500mg-1g every 4-6 hours. Pediatric: 25-50mg/kg/day in divided doses every 4-12 hours; maximum 2g every 4 hours.

Pregnancy category: B. B: May be acceptable. Either animal studies show no risk but human studies not available or animal studies showed minor risks and human studies done and showed no risk.

|
Trace amounts in milk, but appropriate to use.
