Manic bipolar I disorder, Schizophrenia.

Increase body temperature, cerebrovascular accident in the elderly ,
drug-induced tardive dystonia, excessive thirst, hypergly cemia,hypothermia, seizure, syncope, tardive dyskinesia, transient ischemic attack in the elderly . |

Manic bipolar I disorder: Monotherapy with lithium or valproate;
intially, 2-3mg orally once a day with dosage adjustments of 1mg/day increments. Schizophrenia: Initially 1mg twice daily , with 1mg twice daily increments on the second and third day |
