RAMIPRIL
ACE INHIBITORS
Mild to moderate hypertension, congestive heart failure.
Nausea, cough, asthenia, abdominal cramps, headache, dizziness. C.f. prescribing in renal disease p. 36.
Hypertension: 2.5-10mg once daily. CHF: Initial dose 1.25mg once daily increased to 10 mg daily in 1 or 2 divided doses. After myocardial infarction: Initial dose 2.5 mg twice daily ,increased after two days to 5 mg twice daily. Renal impairment: Initial
ACE Inhibitors can cause injury and death to the developing fetus when used in the second and third trimesters. ACE Inhibitors should be discontinued as soon as possible once pregnancy is detected.
Use ramipril with caution in lactating women.
