METOPROLOL
BETA ADRENERGIC BLOCKING AGENTS
Angina pectoris, cardiac arrhymias, myocardial infarction.
Severe hypotension, bradycardia, congestive heart failure, palpitations, headache, insomnia, tiredness, dizziness, and depression. See propranolol hydrochloride. C.f. prescribing in liver and renal disease p. 15.
Emergency treatment of cardiac arrhythmias: i.v. initial dose of up
to 5 mg, at a rate of 1 to 2 mg/minute; repeated, if necessary, at intervals of 5 minutes to a total dose of 10 to 15 mg.
Metoprolol is distributed in breast milk. Use with caution in lactating women.
