Liver function test should be carried out every 3 months.Serious muscle toxicity, including myopathy and rhabdomyolysis, has been reported in patients receiving fibric acid derivatives. Risk appears to be increased in geriatric patients and in patients with diabetes mellitus, renal impairment, or hypothyroidism. Avoid in severe renal impairment.
Adult: 67 mg three times daily or 200 mg once daily . Pediatric (4-15
years): 1 cap sule/20mg daily .
Fenofibrate is not recommended during pregnancy.
Fenofibrate is not recommended for lactating women.
