OPIATE AGONISTS
|
|
|
Mild to moderate pain in patients intolerant of aspirin.
|
|
|
Syncope, nausea, constipation, sedation, dependence. May cause drowsiness. Warn patients re driving: Avoid alcohol and other depressants. Avoid in children under 1 year old.
|
|
|
Adult: 30 60mg every 4 6 hours. Maximum 240mg daily. Reduce dose by 75% in moderate and 50% in severe renal failure. Take with food or milk. Paediatric under 12 years: 0.5-1mg/kgevery 4-6 hours.
