Carboplatin can cause fetal toxicity when administered to pregnant women, but potential benefits from use of the drug may be acceptable in certain conditions despite possible risks to the fetus.

Because of the potential for serious adverse reactions to carboplatin in nursing infants if the drug were distributed into milk, nursing should be discontinued during carboplatin therapy.
