LOCAL ANESTHETICS

Used in epidural analgesia. Especially in obstetrics. Contraindicated
in intraveneous regional anesthesia (Bier's block). 0.75% solution is contra-indicated for epidural block in obstetrics. |

|
Highly toxic effects include convulsions, respiratory and cardiac arrest in overdose.
|
|
|
Maximum dose of 150-175mg in a 4 hour period. High therapeutic index.
