Mild to moderate pain. Alternative to aspirin or indomethacin, with less side effects. |
| Caution | G.I. irritation; allergic disorders (as for aspirin) but less frequent. May administer with meals or milk if G.I. upset occurs. C.f. prescribing in liver and renal disease p. 14; 31. |
| Dose Range | Adult: 400mg 3-4 times daily. Do not exceed 2400mg total daily dose. Pediatric: 4-10mg/kg every 6-8 hours to a maximum of 40mg/kg/day. See BDS supply protocols pg. 5. |
