Active Ingredient ATROPINE SULPHATE
Therapeutic Class ANTIMUSCARINICS/ANTISPASMODICS
Indications Most commonly used premedication agent to dry bronchial and salivary secretions. Also drug of choice for immediate treatment of excessive bradycardia.
Caution Glaucoma, dry mouth, paralyticileus, excessive tachycardia, urinary retention and constipation.
Dose Range i.v. 0.3 - 0.6mg immediately before induction of anaesthesia or
reversal of brady cardia i.m. 0.3 - 0.6mg, repeat if necessary .
Drug Interactions
Pregnancy Use with caution. Atropine readily crosses the placenta.
Breast Feeding May suppress lactation.

Indications Refraction procedures and in anterior uveitis.
Caution Risk of systemic effects with eye drops in infants under 3 months.
Dose Range Adult: 1 drop 1 hour before refraction procedure. Uveitis: 1-2 drops up to 4 times daily. Pediatric 3months-18yrs: 1 drop twice daily for 3 days before refraction procedure. Anterior uveitis (2-18 yrs): 1 drop up to 4 times daily .
