Usual drug of choice for major surgery and for use with long term ventilation of intensive care patients.

Caution in hepatic and renal impairment. C.f. prescribing in renal

i.v. 0.05-0.1mg/kg, then 0.01-0.02mg/kg as required.

Discontinue breastfeeding until the mother has recovered from neuromuscular blockade.
